The Koskeris(2004) articles decribes about how ICT can be used so as to boost tourism econoty gowth towards regional economie growth. In particular, thr main assumption is that the tourism entrepreneurs have to develop and adapt ICT applications(e.g. promotion portals, e-presence, mobile services) tailored to their needs. The article will examine the Digital Ionian Islands information environment, developed under the framework of Innnovative Action Program, and the methokologies for its effective application. It is estimated that the creation of similar tools in trgional and local level will have a positive long-term impact to the economic prosperity of EU regions.
